  • The Dancing Devils of Corpus Christie is Venezuelan tradicional festivity celebrates at Corpus Christi day in the small town of San Francisco de Yare.  Its origins are traced back to the 18th century, being the oldest brotherhood of the American continent. Every Corpus Christi (nine Thursdays after Holy Thursday), a ritual dance is performed by the so-called "Dancing Devils," who wear red garments , ,paper mache masks of grotesque appearance and accessories like crosses, scapulars, rosaries and amulets. The ritual dance symbolizes the victory of Good over Evil.

  • Feast of Las Zaragoza - Sanare 'Zaragoza' gives its name to the Aragonese capital and a famous Venezuela festival. Every December 28, the city of Sanare (in Lara State) commemorates the Holy Innocents' day with a colourful party of costumes, songs and dances that shares a name with our city.<br />
<br />
The name of 'Los Zaragozas' is due to the influence of the Spanish clerics who settled in the towns of Sanare and El Tocuyo, and indicates that some of the lyrics of the songs that are sung on this Venezuelan holiday speak of the city that originates the name of the participants: "When you go to the mountains, ay, Zaragoza !, look for me like a sheep, ay, Zaragoza !, do not look for me around the branches, ay, Zaragoza !, look for me in the little flowers, ay, Zaragoza !, Alara la rá la la la Zaragoza! "
